Raised on the outskirts of Toronto and a childhood friend of Lloyd Wilks, Jill Price's mixed media approach is a true reflection of the numerous rich experiences she had growing up and during her travels as an adult.

Now in private & corporate collections, Jill's work is represented at The Westland Gallery in London, Ontario and at Circle Arts Gallery in Tobermory.  Her work has also been purchased by the Bank of Montréal and was selected to represent Canada at the World Art Games Conference in Turkey in 2012.  Outside of her practice, she works as the Curator & Education Officer at Quest Art School + Gallery in Midland, Ontario.  Jill also works as part-time faculty in the Art & Design Fundamentals Program at Georgian College and will be attending OCAD University in the fall in order to work towards her MFA in interdisciplinary studies.

The donated work for this auction is from Price's "Fabricated Landscape" series, mixed media textile works that visually document observed undeveloped pockets of land nestled within her city limits that still point to rural beginnings.

Manoeuvring

This is a small airplane and the passengers will see and feel the normal manoeuvres more than you will in an airliner.

In the plane

One passenger will be sitting in the co-pilot’s seat with a full set of controls in front of him/her and full view out the windscreen and of the instrument panel. The view is spectacular and the pilot is more than willing to explain the functions of the various controls and gauges.

One of the passengers will be wearing a communications headsets, so he/she can talk talk comfortably with the pilot and also hear all of the radio chatter.

On the day

The plane will fly out of Burlington Executive Airport on Old School Line north of Burlington. The pilot rents the plane from Spectrum Airways, a local flight school and charter operation.

The winner ang guest will need to arrive approximately 15 minutes or so before the flight. In that time, the pilot will brief you on the route to be taken and what to expect. In the airplane, the pilot will also give the passengers a safety briefing.

Typically, the pilot is in the air for about 1.5 hrs.

Basic rules for the flight

  1. Enjoy yourself.
  2. Bring a camera.
  3. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
